Hansom Hall started life in 1886 as a mission hall and Sunday school for St Agnes and the surrounding areas. Originally designed by renowned architect Charles Hansom, it has had a long and varied life most recently known to Bristolians as the Empire Sports Club, since 1964. The building has now been expertly restored using a mixture of traditional and modern methods of construction in order to return it to its former glory.
Located on between Thomas Street and Newfoundland Road, just 10 minutes walk from Bristol City Centre, it is part of a vibrant area nestled between St Werburghs and St Pauls with close links to the M32. The building contains a mixture of 22 new apartments, houses and maisonettes, all creatively designed to retain important architectural features which have been restored and retained throughout. Each property displays individual original features, and each home has completely unique characteristics, whether it is hand-crafted stained glass windows with copper tie finishes, rustic oak beams which have been kept on display or meticulously reinstated stonework. Some homes benefit from carefully reconditioned, cast-iron fireplaces which originally warmed the building’s residents.
Phase 1 of the development is now launched and homes are available to purchase through our marketing agent CJ Hole. Click below for the floor plans of the available apartments.
